Kedar is the founder of the BonTom research group and serves as Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Agricultural, Food & Environmental Quality Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Backed by over 40 years of experience in tomato genetics and breeding , with special emphasis on shelf-life, taste and disease resistance, Prof. Kedar has to his credit over 100 publications on vegetable production and breeding. His current research deals with breeding of high-yield greenhouse tomatoes with improved flavor. and with breeding of cluster (truss) varieties. Currently Rector of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Prof. Rabinowitch co-heads the BonTom research group. Previous positions include Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural, Food & Environmental Quality Sciences, head of the Faculty of Agriculture Research Committee, and head of the Academic Committee of the Israeli Gene Bank.
A phytopathologist of the Hebrew University Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology. Holding the title of Honorary President of the Israeli Phytopathological Society, Prof. Katan has over 200 publications to his credit, numerous prizes, and has been guest lecturer at universities in the UK and USA. Specializing in Fusarium and Verticillium, his main areas of research include:
Mr. Shomroni brings more than 15 years of experience in management, marketing, business development, and software and hardware development to his current position as BonTom’s Business Manager. Prior to joining BonTom, Mr. Shomroni served as managing director of RealTech Communication Ltd., was managing director of GalCon Ltd., and held several executive positions with high-tech companies in the field of telecommunications. Mr. Shomroni holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. |
